Een tijdje geleden heb ik geprobeerd om voor mijn muziekfavorieten op YouTube een afspelertje te maken waarmee je je favorieten op andere sites zou kunnen afspelen. Dat was een hoop gedoe en leverde in het geheel geen bevredigend resultaat op, dus ben ik er weer mee gestopt.

Gelukkig heeft YouTube inmiddels maatregelen genomen en wordt het steeds makkelijker video's op je site en blog af te spelen. Het is kinderlijk eenvoudig een playlist aan te maken en die met filmpjes die je tegenkomt te vullen. Net als losse YouTube filmpjes kun je de playlist als een stream op een andere site aanbieden. Pretwerk dus, zeker om een playlist samen te stellen. In het playertje kun je voor- en achteruit door de nummers bladeren.

Mooi toch hè, die nieuwe-media-web-2.0-gratis-en-voor-niks-alles-met-elkaar-delen-dingen. En dan blijkt ook maar weer eens dat je niet alles zelf moet willen doen ;--)

Social Geometry

Pavement in the Javastraat. Not so crowded and more space to move your legs then previous picture.

I used to study these kind of situations: how do people manage bodily appearance in public space. I also invented a term for it: social geometry. A basic rule is that strangers make strange moves to avoid bodily contact among eacht other. When there are dead objects in the space (sales board, bicycles) they can make funny dances around it.

Les Ardennes

Last week miss Screenpunk and me went to Les Ardennes in Belgium for a family gathering. Its about 300 kilometers from Amsterdam and the ride went smooth. Halfway we passed an alien mothership that got stranded along the road. They started a restaurant in it where they sell frozen water with a probability of bacteria. We didnt stay very long.

In Les Ardennes we stayed in a castle - or better - in a wing of a castle. Le château des bisons is for rent.



In Les Ardennes miss Screenpunk engaged tout suite in arrowshooting and other activitities the somewhat medievel Wallonians use to earn a living.

And dont make jokes now on miss Screenpunk using two shooting boards so she cant miss target!

At 'our' castle in Les Ardennes they keep dogs for hunting, 45 of them. Every dog eats a kilo of meat per day and they drop their droppings in the cage and barn that was to the site. It smelled like hell over there.

When i approached them they started barking like i was from hell. The owner came out and slung a giant whip and they all fell quiet instantly.

I wanted this picture to be a kind of action shot suggesting the dogs starting game, but i guess the fence and woodpile got in the way. Well, i still consider the shot as a first step in my career as a National Geographic Wannabe.

My second try as a National Geographic Wanabe. The buffalo's are supposed to be original American buffalo's and they are kept for meat production.

I wanted to suggest a kind of Dances With Wolves like hunting scene, but i cant remember if Kevs head is dancing on a wire in the movie.

My third attempt as a National Geographic Wannabe: chickenlegs.

I admit there's a lot of smoke coming from the BBQ, but thats because my father in law is an expert in BBQing with a gas fuelled grill. Now he had to fire the coal he dumped all the aanmaakblokjes on it expecting a lot of flames, but getting a lot of smoke instead.

As i found out its much easier to picture dead animals then live ones, my final attempt in Wallonië for National Geographic Wannabe focuses on a dead deer skullthat hangs on the wall. My own head is intended to bring some life to it andgive it an authentic National Geographic feel.

And then we went back to Amsterdam again.
